Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Post Graduate Certificate in Continence and Pelvic Floor Rehabilitation
Amy has been a women’s health physiotherapist for almost 25 years. She has gained post graduate qualifications in Pelvic Floor and Continence Rehabilitation. Amy has worked in both the private and public systems; in private practice, hospitals and continence clinics. Amy’s areas of interest are persistent pelvic pain, bladder pain, urinary and faecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, and ante and postnatal pelvic floor dysfunction.
Amy is involved in research investigating transcutaneous tibial and sacral nerve stimulation – a treatment for overactive bladder syndrome. She is also using this treatment in the clinic. Her other research involvement has been the role of physiotherapy management before and after Botox to the pelvic floor muscles.
Amy is passionate about educating, empowering and nurturing women to make healthy exercise and lifestyle choices to allow them to live and age well. She is committed to providing patient centred, individualised care and working with each patient to achieve their goals.
Amy loves working as part of a multidisciplinary team and feels honoured to be part of the Jean Hailes for Women’s Health service.
